A home has been evacuated on Walnut Street in Paris after a landslide.
PARIS - A public safety notice is still in place for the Town of Paris after a Landslide on 47 Walnut Street.
Chief Building Official for Brand County Andre Gravalle explains what happened.
"The owner engaged persons to re-grade their rear yard and they took excessive amount of fill out, which caused the slope failure of the embankment."
Right now it looks like the only home that will be impacted by this is the one at 47 Walnut Street.
"Well right now the soil engineer has been retained to review this, they have deemed that the slope is unstable and it threatens that house at 47 Walnut Street, the County took measures to evacuate the tenants of that house for safety reasons and the engineers are reviewing what needs to be done now."
Gravalle adds that residents are still being told to avoid the area for safety reasons and fencing is getting installed today.
"We certainly making sure that the residents know to stay away, fencing will be finished today around the entire area for public safety."
