The Downtown Ingersoll BIA will debut the new crosswalk before the Remembrance Day Ceremony on November 11th.
INGERSOLL - Ingersoll is set to honour Veterans with a new crosswalk.
This will be presented on November 11th at 10:30 am just prior to the Remembrance Day ceremony. Coordinator with the Downtown Ingersoll BIA Virginia Armstrong explains how this came to be. "It was a collaboration of various groups within our community, and a committee was established to make this project become a reality."
The crosswalk will feature the words Lest we forget among other phrases in English, French along with Indigenous languages.
Armstrong discusses where this is located and something special added to this years Remembrance Day ceremony.
"The Veterans Crosswalk is located at the corner of King and Oxford Street. We're also honoured that the Veterans Affair Canada will be sending a representative to be apart of our ceremony that day, we are pretty excited about that."
This crosswalk was created by local artist Deb Campbell.
