They talked about a new development that will be located on the 78 acres of land donated by Grobrook Farms.

TORONTO - It was a successful Rural Ontario Municipal Association (ROMA) Conference for Ingersoll Town Council.

Mayor Brian Petrie, Deputy Mayor Lindsay Wilson, Councillor Rick Eus, Councillor Shannon Hutson and CAO Michael Graves met with the Ministry of Sport while they were in Toronto last weekend.

They talked about a new development that's going to include not only the Multi-Use Recreation Centre, but also a new school, day care, recreation fields, and future intensified housing. The Town aquired 78 acres of land from Grobrook Farms last year.

Mayor Brian Petrie says it was a productive meeting.

"I want to thank the ministry for taking the time to meet with our delegation and hear about how Ingersoll is finding creative ways to tackle shared municipal and provincial challenges. We're excited to keep working together to make sure residents in Ingersoll and the surrounding region see the greatest benefits."

Oxford MPP Ernie Hardman was also present for the meeting.
