Oxford County had a council meeting last Wednesday. In the interview Warden Martin talks about bag tags, COVID-19 financial relief measures in Oxford County, Interim CAO Larry McCabe and the importance of social distancing.
OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford County had their first Council meeting for the month of April on Wednesday.
It was a comprehensive agenda that touched on a number of items. You can get a complete rundown online here.
Heart FM reached out to Warden Larry Martin who provided us with details on the following items:
- How they were able to manage the first council meeting electronically.
- A request from the Town of Tillsonburg to suspend bag tags. Bag tags will continue, however a report will be brought back to council and the matter is being looked at.
- COVID-19 Financial relief measures: Oxford County is going to waive the penalties and interest on overdue taxes. They will also not shut off your hydro or your water during these trying times.
- The naming of interim CAO Larry McCabe.
- The importance of social distancing and encouraging residents to "Do Your Part, Stay Apart"
