June Sales

Home sales up from June 2013 according to the Woodstock-Ingersoll & District Real Estate Board

WOODSTOCK -- In June, local home sales hit their highest level for the month in five years.

According to the Woodstock-Ingersoll and District Real Estate Board President, William Cattle "activity in June was not quite as strong as it has been in May, but sales still managed to hit their highest level for the month in five years.  Listings have not kept pace with the demand in recent months, so market conditions have tightened heading into the summer."

In total, 120 homes were sold in June, 2014 which represents a 2.6 per cent increase from a year earlier.

While sales were up, the average price was down four per cent at $239,216.

As for new listings, that remained unchanged on a year-to-year basis at 171 units for last month.

Residential property sales amounted to $28.7 million in June, down 1.5 per cent from levels recorded a year earlier.  All property type sales were 121 units in June with a value of $30 million.
