Keep Travel Restrictions in Mind if you Plan on Heading South for Black Friday

When you factor in the price of gas right now, you will probably find more savings by shopping locally.

Tomorrow is Black Friday and some Canadians will be heading across the border for deals.

Local stores across the region are having black Friday sales again this year as well and when you factor in the price of gas right now, you will probably find more savings by shopping locally.

The County of Brant has issued a few reminders as well to people travelling across the border looking for deals.

You do need to show proof of vaccination to cross the border for anyone 12+.

For kids 12 and under, who are just now able to get vaccinated, the country still has several restrictions.

For two weeks after crossing the border back into Canada, your child must not attend:

- Camp,
- After school programs,
- Recreational activities (sports, skating programs, toddlers programs, children's programs, etc),
- Any large indoor and outdoor functions, any extracurricular events.

During this two week period, parents/guardians are responsible for:

- Limiting their child’s contact with others,
- Wearing a mask and participating in physical distancing,
- Making sure that their child does not come into contact with anyone who has a medical condition that makes them extra vulnerable to catching COVID-19,

You can find more information on this restrictions online here.
