
Oxford MP Arpan Khanna presented the medal to deserving recipients Tuesday night.
WOODSTOCK - Thirty Oxford County residents have been presented with the King Charles III Coronation Medal.
They were honoured at the Market Centre Theatre in Woodstock Tuesday night with over 250 people in attendance.
"We recognized some of the great individuals in our great community that have done so much, sacrificed so much and touched the lives of countless others in all of the service that they did, so it was a special moment."
He adds this is a once in a lifetime award.
"There will be no medal like this until the next major event with the monarchy, so this is a special medal. It's something that happens on special milestones, so it's not an annual medal and I'm very lucky to be given the opportunity to award it to some Oxford residents."
The last medal of this nature was the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal in 2002.
Members of the community were able to nominate those who they felt were deserving of this honour, and you can find the complete list of recipients below:
Master Corporal Brian Birdsell, CD - He has dedicated over 30 years to the Canadian Armed Forces. Also served as a teacher and musician with the Norwich Musical Society Band.
Kelly Byers - Local realtor with the Woodstock Ingersoll Tillsonburg and Area Association of Realtors. One of the driving forces behind the Realtors Care Food Drive.
Michael Crabbe - General Manager for the Woodstock Chamber of Commerce. Also an active volunteer with Theatre Woodstock and United Way Oxford.
Police Constable Randi Crawford - Dedicated more than 10 years with the OPP. She currently serves as the Media Relations and Community Safety Officer for the Oxford County detachment.
Sergeant Kelly Mari Daniels - She has spent over 20 years enhancing the relationships between the OPP and Indigenous communities.
Dr. Urbain Michael Demaiter - He has been a respected family dentist in the Tillsonburg area. He's also known for his volunteer work with the Knights of Columbus, the Cemetery Board, Community Living, St. Mary's Parish, and the Kinsmen Club.
Sharon Docherty - She's one of the driving forces behind the Woodstock FC club. She ensures its financial sustainability while growing youth participation and overseeing championship victories.
Corporal Ernest Allen Guy - He has dedicated over 20 years to the Royal Canadian Legion. He has provided support to veterans through the veterans through the Poppy Campaign, Veterans Affairs, Sick and Visiting Officer, and as 1st Vice President.
Johanna Hampson-Ducharme - A paramedic with the Oxford County Paramedic Service. She also helps palliative patients and their families through the Wish to Remember program.
Jayna Hendren - Co-founder of Seniors in Food Crisis - Oxford County which helps seniors dealing with food insecurity.
Dianne Hodges - President of Royal Canadian Region Branch 153 in Tillsonburg since 2011.
Sam Horton - He has worked with the OPP, Big Brothers Big Sisters and other local organizations to shine a light on cycling safety, health and other youth initiatives.
Brad Janssen - He has been known for promoting community unity and positivity in Oxford County throughout his career in broadcasting, event planning and fundraising.
Master Corporal William Mallinson, CD - Served 34 years in the Canadian Armed Forces Reserves.
Mert McMahon - A dedicated volunteer in Innerkip who has dedicated countless hours to several community initiatives.
Frank Moore - He has honoured Canadian veterans through several initiatives. He has played a role in memorializing fallen soldiers and showed a deep commitment to remembrance and education about their sacrifices.
John Oliveria - Known for his work in the agriculture in addition to his volunteer and fundraising efforts.
Darell Parker - He dedicated over 30 years to the people of Ingersoll and Oxford County. Twenty-three of those years were spent as Ingersoll Fire Chief.
Don Pearce - Known for his work with the Sweaburg Lions and minor baseball.
Pastor Paul Robinson, CD - He has worked with the Royal Canadian Legion to serve the spiritual and pastoral needs of the Canadian Armed Forces members and veterans.
Cara Schmidt - Founder of Andrew's Legacy, which has provided AEDs is several schools in public places in memory of her son Andrew Stoddart.
Chee Peng Tan - A small business owner in Tavistock who is also involved with the Fair Board, Chamber of Commerce, and Rotary Club.
Denise Tew - She has dedicated over 40 years to local history through the Plattsville & District Heritage Society, the Chesterfield Museum, and other educational and community initiatives.
Monica Theysen - Runs the Sunday Supper With Friends program to help people in need.
Alison Vankerrebroeck - Dedicated 34 years as a elementary school teacher while volunteering for the Optimist Club of Norwich and District and other organizations.
Doug Wagner - Known for his leadership roles with Canada's Outdoor Farm Show, Ag in Motion and his involvement with local 4H programs.
Paul Bruce Woods - Dedicated 39 years to law enforcement, the Royal Canadian Legion, Freemasonry, and his church.
Thomas Ronald Wright - Founding member and leader of the Norwich Merchants Junior Hockey Team.
Regimental Sergeant Major Jordan Wubs - Worked with the Woodstock Police Service Honour Guard Unit, as a Volunteer Firefighter, as a Medical First Responder and a Therapy Dog volunteer with St. John Ambulance, all after serving with the Canadian Armed Forces.
Corporal Greg Yeoman - Known for his support of the veteran community advocacy, fundraising, and remembrance efforts.
