Woodstock City council has given the Netflix series Locke and Key the green light to film a couple of scenes at Museum Square in late May.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock City Council has approved a request for filming from the Netflix television series Locke and Key.
Production crews will be filming a couple of scenes at Museum Square in downtown Woodstock for the show's third season. Development Commissioner for the City of Woodstock Len Magyar explains what the Production team was asking for from the City.
"The main ask yesterday, was largely dealing with traffic, they are looking for some road closures to allow them to do their filming. The date has been moved, it looks like it will be later in May and they will use our local police to actually close the roads for a period of time while they shoot."
The number of days they will be filming is fluid but it is expected to only be a couple of days. Magyar says this is good news for the community.
"This is a feel good thing for the community that somebody has selected us for filming. I think the other thing that will be come pretty evident for downtown restaurants, specifically restaurants, they will probably an influx of people over the course of shooting for meals and that kind of thing because the crews of course have to be fed while doing this. It will definitely be a boost for the community and a boost for the downtown as well."
Locke and Key is a popular drama series on Netflix. It follows 3 siblings who move to their ancestral home after the murder of their father. The siblings soon discover the house has magical keys that gives them a vast array of powers and abilities. It is based on the best selling graphic novels and premiered on Netflix last February.
