Warden Don McKay is not concerned about the letter Oxford's MPP recieved from the Health Minister regarding the closure of Bonnie Brae. Earlier this month, the letter read that the 80 long term care beds were out of the county for good. But McKay is sure there will be a positive outcome from this closure with their request to the Health Minister to add newer beds. "We need to get on with the redevelopment of beds and in the long term we don't want to see beds leave but in the short term if some leave, facilitate some coming back. I'd be confident we will be secure with the number of beds and provide high quality health care here in Oxford." The Tillsonburg, Ingersoll, and Woodstock hospitals each have seniors admitted as patients waiting for long-term care beds.
