The third year of the Medics for Mental Health bike ride is coming soon.
OXFORD COUNTY - Get your bike out to help support the mental health of your first responders.
On September 8th, Medics for Mental Health will hold their 3rd annual bike ride.
President and Founder of Medics for Mental Health, Tanya Hirtz on the event.
"We're a group of first responders that have organized a 50km and 100km bike ride that occurs in Oxford County. We're just trying to raise awareness to the mental health importance among first responders."
The event will raise money for the Tema Conter Memorial Trust's Peer Support and Family Assistance Program.
Hirtz says the Tema Conter Memorial Trust reported suicide numbers is disheartening.
"Since April of 2014, they have reported 249 Canadian first responder and military personnel who have died by suicide. So I feel that 249 is too many."
Opening Ceremonies for the event begins at 7:45 in the morning.
