68 Woodstock Police officers have been equipped with naloxone nasal spray.
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Police Service has acquired more naloxone kits for their officers.
68 officers have been equipped with the nasal spray that can reverse the symptoms of an opioid overdose and save a life. They have the authorization to administer the medication if they believe it is necessary.
In a press release, Chief Bill Renton says one of their primary functions as police officers is to serve and protect and that includes the preservation of life.
The service received 15 kits earlier this year, with the help from the Hardie Foundation.
