Ingersoll Councillor Cathy Mott says a love for the job was one reason she filed her nomination papers for the 2014 municipal election
Current Ingersoll Council member Cathy Mott has filed her papers for reelection.
She says he community interest and involvement make her a great fit for the position.
Mott says she has loved sitting on council the past three years.
"I enjoy it. I feel like I'm really being able to help people and I want to continue that. I like letting people know what's happening, answering their questions and making connections to people and projects and projects to people and I think I'm very good at it."
Mott says there are many reasons she's right for the job.
"Huge interest in the community, my involvement with it. Now I have experience on council, I've been involved with many community organizations and thanks to my parents, I have a great academic background that seems to fit in with everything I need."
Mott says there are three main issues facing Ingersoll at this time.
"Keeping away the dump, number one. Continuing the financial improvements to the town and community involvement, looking after people and their needs."
Mott is just one of four people who have already filed their Ingersoll Council nomination papers.
There are five positions available in total.
