The multiuse recreation centre is a hot topic in Ingersoll. Council will be discussing ideas to make sure the project can move forward at their meeting tonight.
INGERSOLL - Ingersoll Council will have a hot topic on their agenda.
During the meeting tonight (Monday, January 8th) there will talks about the Multiuse Rec Centre and ways to move forward.
Mayor, Brian Petrie says he expects a good discussion.
"I think there will be a lot of great questions coming from council seeking information. I don't know if we will be able to make a full decision tonight, but I think there will be great discussion on all the items on hand to make a proper decision on it."
Petrie adds with the new land acquired by the Town, the original 12 acres of industrial land that was set aside for the project could be put to use for more industrial type projects and buildings.
He also says the process started 5 years ago and different opinions are something that will help.
"We really want to hear from the community as a whole about this process and what they want to see in a Multiuse Rec Facility."
Petrie mentions that the biggest thing for Council is to get this project right, and that will happen by getting feedback from the residents.
