Registration is now open for a My Safe Life course for kids at the Southside Aquatic Centre.
WOODSTOCK - Parents can sign their seven to nine year olds up for a special safety course at the Southside Aquatic Centre.
The instructors in the My Safe Life course will talk to the kids about appropriate behaviours, accident prevention, basic first aid and fire safety.
Supervisor of Recreation Programs Emma Vondervoort says they will also talk about online safety.
"It's really realistic about the different situations that they might encounter online and they teach them how to appropriately handle those situations so they can remain safe online."
Vondervoort says the parents will even have the opportunity to participate.
"We invite the parents in at the end to kind of learn a little bit about what they've gone over. The child also goes home with a My Safe Life booklet that the parent and the child review together and they can kind of look at everything that was gone over."
Registration is $60 a child and you can sign up at the Southside Aquatic Centre. You can also reserve a spot over the phone; call 519-539-2382 with the extension 2701.
