A total of $48,945 was given away, and the money came from the Maple Leaf Community Fund in honour of Harvey and Erma Beaty. Harvey founded Cold Springs Farm in Thamesford in 1949, which ultimately became part of Maple Leaf Foods.

The food programs that benefitted from the grant include VON getting $17,935 for their student nutrition programs at Oxford County elementary schools. Next, the Multi-Service Centre in Tillsonburg was given $6,300 for their Frozen Meals on Wheels program. United Way Oxford has been handed $5,825 to support a kitchen in a new transitional home in Ingersoll. $5,275 is going to South Gate Centre to help with the meals for seniors program. Dayspring Pregnancy and Family Support Centre is also getting funding of $5,110 going towards their Baby Brunch Crockpot Meal Preparation program. $5,000 has been given to Youth Unlimited YFC, which will help with The Table program for high school students. Lastly, Cycles of Life received $3,500 to support their food rescue program.

The Oxford Community Foundation wants to be able to help people leave a legacy in Oxford, with the hopes of making the County a better place.
