Marian Sterk was honoured with the Hall of Fame Award and MGS Farming received the Family Farm Award.
OXFORD COUNTY - The Oxford County Federation of Agriculture (OFCA) has announced the newest inductee for the Agricultural Hall of Fame.
Marian Sterk was honoured with the Hall of Fame Award during the OFCA's Annual General Meeting at the Elm Hurst on January 25th. She's known for her dedication to her family and the agricultural community. The federation also says Sterk is more than just a farmer, adding she's also a bookkeeper, chauffeur, parts runner, volunteer, quilt maker, and so much more.
Her name will be added to the Agricultural Hall of Fame in the Oxford County Administration building this March.
MGS Farming was presented with the Family Farm Award during the OCFA AGM. It's run by the family of John Gal and the business is known for its sustainable practices.
OCFA President Dirk Boogerd explains the importance of these awards.
"These awards represent the embodiment of tradition and innovation. They are a testament to the hard work and passion that our farming families bring to their farms and communities day in and day out."
