The funding will help purchase more and feed the fish in the pond outside the Navy Club.
WOODSTOCK - A grant for $2,100 from the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters will help the Oxford County Naval Veterans Association to support three different fishing derbies in Woodstock.
This includes Navy Club Kids Fishing Derby, Veterans Fishing Outing from London's Parkwood Hospital, and the Kids & Cops Fishing Derby that's hosted by the Woodstock Police Service.
Lyle Ball, the Treasurer of the Oxford County Naval Veterans Association, says all three events utilize the pond outside the Navy Club.
"The impact of this OFAH grant cannot be overstated. This grant gives the OCNVA a much-needed support and boost for our upcoming fishing derbies this year."
The grant funding will help the Navy Club purchase more fish for the pond once derby season is over and care for them throughout the year.
