Ontario's Craft Brewers are asking to be allowed to open one off-site store per brewery to help the industry grow.
ONTARIO - Ontario's crafter brewers have put together a proposal allowing them to open at least one off-site store per brewery.
If the proposal is accepted, the brewers would be allowed to sell not only their own product in these stores, but also carry wares from other small breweries around the province. They say the ability to sell in this way could help to grow the industry - right now in Ontario, there are more than 150 small, independent craft breweries in operation.
The Ontario Craft Brewers say if they are allowed to open off-site stores it could create as many as two thousand new direct brewery jobs along with four or five new positions per store.
