OPP reporting rise in number of drivers with expired license plates.
The OPP are reminding drivers that they still need to renew their license plates, even though it's now free.
In March, the province dropped license plate renewal fees, but the actual process is still required.
OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt says police have seen a large uptick in the number of drivers with an expired license plate.
He says drivers who don't renew their plates could be hit with a fine if they fail to do so.
