Many concerned members of Oxford County have contacted the County about the issue of speeding in their area.
OXFORD - Concerned citizens of Oxford County have been contacting County Council about speeding.
One person from the village of Innerkip presented a delegation to council earlier today.
Warden David Mayberry said this is a county wide issue.
"The situation in Innerkip is very similar to a lot of other communities across Oxford County and it's simply that people are in a hurry. They speed way too fast through communities."
Council also received a petition from members of Blandford-Blenheim regarding the same issues.
Warden David Mayberry says one option is automated speed enforcement.
"The legislation and regulations aren't in place yet for us to do that. Staff has been working on it for the last little while, waiting for the regulations to be put in place so that we can explore it fully and certainly the direction from public works today was that they are intending to explore it in 2019."
