
The SIU is investigating a crash in Guelph that killed a 43-year-old man from Oxford County on Saturday.
GUELPH - The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is investigating the death of a 43-year-old from Oxford County.
Officials say Guelph Police went to check on the wellbeing of a man in a pickup truck in the area of Victoria Street and York Road at around 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. The officers discovered that an arrest warrant had been issued for him, so the man fled in the truck and the officers pursued him.
The SIU says the truck collided with two other vehicles before it rolled several times in the area of Victoria Road South and Clair Road East. The man later died in hospital and no further details have been released at this time.
The Special Investigations Unit is notified whenever there is an incident with police that results in death, serious injury, sexual assault, and/or discharge of a firearm.
