For the first time since the pandemic began, Oxford County Council members will be able to attend council meetings in person.
OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford County councillors will be in attendance at the next meeting for the first time in 17 months.
The County is doing a hybrid model, where councillors can attend in person. Warden Larry Martin says some councillors will continue to stay home and the meeting will be done electronically.
"What we are basically going to do, or try to do, is rather than sitting at home with their laptops, the ones who want to, can come into council chambers and set up their laptops."
The meetings will be still be done virtually, however several councillors will be present in the council chambers. Martin says it will be voluntary.
"If they are not comfortable, they can continue to work from home, but those of us that will be there will be there in person but we will be operating off our laptops with headphones on."
The County will try the new hybrid model at the next meeting in two weeks.
