The Queen?s Diamond Jubilee medal was given to members of Oxford to honour their dedication to public service and contribution to the community. Oxford MPP Ernie Hardeman presented the medals and said they couldn?t have picked a better bunch: ?I think they are a very worthy group of individuals, all in a different way. Some people because of what they are doing for our environment and some because of what they do in social services.? Michael Bossy from Tillsonburg was one of the sixteen people chosen. ?It?s somewhat humbling. When I listen to all of these other things that these people have done and how long they?ve been doing it and I?m, relatively speaking, not as old as them. I?m thinking how did I fit into this group?? said Bossy. Bossy helped build the community facility at Glendale High School and founded Basketball Tillsonburg among other contributions. Each recipient showed continued selfless support to the community.
