Patrick Brown launched his federal Conservative leadership campaign in Brampton yesterday.
BRAMPTON - Patrick Brown is looking to lead the Conservatives once again, this time on the national level.
The former Ontario PC party leader launched his campaign to become the next federal Conservative Party leader in Brampton yesterday.
He used to be the MPP for the Barrie-Springwater-Oro-Medonte riding. He was also the leader of the provincial Conservatives from 2015 to 2018, but resigned after CTV published a story accusing his of sexual misconduct. Brown recently settled a defamation lawsuit against CTV and you can read more about that online here.
Five candidates have now entered the federal Conservative leadership race. The list includes former federal PC leader Jean Charest, Ottawa-area MP Pierre Poilievre, Haldimand-Norfolk MP Leslyn Lewis and Independent Ontario legislator Roman Baber.
The new leader will be announced on September 10th.
Today, alongside my wife, Genevieve, and our two children, I announced that I will run to become the leader of Canada’s Conservatives and ensure Justin Trudeau’s Liberal government is defeated in the next federal election.
