The Navy Vets need one more win to advance to the next round of the PJHL playoffs.
PJHL - It was an exciting weekend in PJHL playoff action.
The Woodstock Navy Vets have taken a 3-0 lead in their first-round playoff series against the Paris Titans. The Vets shutout Paris 4-0 on Friday, with Tyler Bouck recording 30 saves for his straight shutout. Woodstock also celebrated a 6-5 win yesterday, after Ethan Szabo scored with just under two minutes left in overtime.
The Vets could advance to the next round of the playoffs if they win Game 4 at Southwood Arena tomorrow night.
The Tavistock Braves celebrated their first playoff win yesterday, with a 4-3 victory over the Hespeler Shamrocks. The Braves also suffered a 6-5 loss on Friday, so Tavistock is trailing the best-of-seven series 2-1. Game 4 will be held at the Tavistock and District Rec Centre Wednesday night.
The Norwich Merchants have a 2-1 lead in their series against the Wellesley Applejacks. They suffered a 5-1 loss to Wellesley on Friday, but bounced back with a 4-1 victory on Saturday. The Merchants will be in Wellesley for Game 4 of the series Wednesday night.
The Thamesford Trojans have also tied their first-round series against the Lucan Irish in the Yeck Division. Lucan beat Thamesford 3-2 on Friday, but the Trojans were able to celebrate a 4-1 win over the Irish on Saturday. Game 3 is scheduled for tomorrow night at the Thamesford Area Recreation Centre.
