A $10,000 cheque from Hydro One is helping Plattsville and District Public School put in new playground equipment.
PLATTSVILLE - Hydro One has presented a $10,000 cheque to Plattsville and District Public School.
A representative from Hydro One presented the cheque to the school during an assembly. Principal Jennifer Brackenbury tells Heart FM the money will help replace the current primary playground structure.
"It is really geared towards our primary students in the school. Their playground was in the most need of repair so school council has decided that it was the playground to replace."
The new structure will feature spinners, slides, and lots of climbing opportunities for students ranging from Kindergarten to about Grades 3 or 4.
Brackenbury says the new playground should be up and running before the end of the school year.
"The playground structure has been ordered, it is waiting in the warehouse so as soon as the weather breaks we can begin installation. We are aiming for - and really hoping for our grand opening to be about mid to late May."
The playground was purchased from Henderson Recreation Equipment.
