All TVDSB schools, including Emily Stowe PS in Norwich, raised the Pride Flag this morning in honour of International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia.
NORWICH - The Pride Flag is flying outside Emily Stowe Public School in Norwich.
In a post on Twitter Mark Fisher, the Director of Education for the Thames Valley District School Board, said all Thames Valley schools and workplaces raised the flag this morning to show support for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
Today is International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia.
Norwich Township has been making headlines over the past few weeks after council passed a motion supporting a flag policy bylaw, which would only allow for government flags to be flown on Township property. Council also turned down a motion to declare June as Pride Month during that same meeting and you can find more information online here.
Today, we raise the Pride Flag at every @TVDSB school and workplace to signify our unwavering solidarity with the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Homophobia, biphobia and transphobia are not tolerated in Thames Valley. We remain committed to equity and inclusion for all. #IDAHOBIT2023 pic.twitter.com/p4JhbdqSfH
