Local Medical Officer of Health Dr. Joyce Lock says many people are cancelling appointments to hold out for the Pfizer dose.
Booster shot bookings in the Southwestern Public Health Region have stalled a bit as residents hold out for Pfizer.
Medical Officer of Health Dr. Joyce Lock says people shouldn't be brand shopping right now.
"Our bodies don't care what brand they receive, they follow the science, not the manufacturer, studies show that immunity shoot back up after the booster and it doesn't matter which brand."
Dr. Lock says she strong urges everyone to get the first booster vaccine that is available.
"I strongly, strongly urge everyone, particularly over the age of 50, to choose increased antibodies over brand."
The Health Unit has added more appointments to the mass vaccination sites at Woodstock and St. Thomas. You can book an appointment online here.
