The giant swap meet is taking place on April 26 at the Sweaburg Ball Park Pavilion.
SWEABURG - Reuseapaloozaha is almost here!
The event promoting zero waste and resource recovery, is a giant free swap meet where you can 'trade' your trash in for another mans treasure.
Brian Smith, the event organizer, says this is a very cool experience.
"So it's that aha moment that you have that says this is still useful to somebody and if I look around my house I probably got quite a few of those kinds of things that maybe I've used at one point but I'm not going to use them again but somebody else could. I'll take them, I'll bring them to the event, somebody else can take them home free."
The palooza will be taking place at the Sweaburg Ball Park Pavilion on April 26, from 8 A.M. until noon.
On top of the actual swap, the event will also welcome guest including people from the Victoria's Quilt, the engaged and informed committee, The Ox on The Run mobile library as well as a monarch butterfly whisperer.
Clothing, fabric, books, toys, tools, hardware, kitchenware, garden, goods, scrap metal, and electronics are all safe items to bring. However Smith adds that certain items will not be accepted.
"We know that children have fragile heads so we don't want to see any helmets or anything there because they are quite restricted. We don't want to see any car seats because we want to protect kids like that and even hockey helmets that would be for a teen or an adult, we want to protect their brains."
Upholstered furniture, and 'disgusting things' will also not be accepted.
Drop-offs will be accepted until 11 A.M. on the day of the palooza.
