Money from this year's run will be used to fund the purchase of an echiocardiography for Woodstock General.
WOODSTOCK - The Dairy Capital Run will be taking over Southside Park in Woodstock this Sunday.
All of the money raised from this year’s event will go towards the Woodstock Hospital Foundation that is trying to purchase an echocardiography machine for Woodstock General. Senior Development officer for the Foundation Jocelyn Jenner told Heart FM they need $200,000 to purchase this life saving piece of equipment.
"Our echocardiography machine helps our cardiologists to get the shape and the pumping capacity of the heart and also allows them to look at the extent of any tissue damage done by cardiovascular disease and helps them to diagnose patients and figure out what type of treatment is needed."
Many roads and intersections closed around Southside park this Sunday morning for the annual #DairyCapitalRun. Expect delays.

This is the 19th edition of the charity run that raised over $930,000 for the Woodstock Hospital Foundation. Jenner says they are hoping to raise $40,000 at the run this year and already have 780 runners and walkers signed up. This year’s race includes a 2k, 5k, 10k course and they have a little hoofers course for kids aged 2-6 with all of the courses stopping and starting at Southside Park. Things get started at 8:00 a.m. at Southside Park in Woodstock on Sunday.
