
A man threatened two employees with a knife after a robbery at a local grocery store in Ingersoll
INGERSOLL - Oxford OPP are looking for the public's help after a robbery at the Independent Grocer on King Street West in Ingersoll.
Police say a knife was pulled and two employees were threatened by a man on Thursday at 5:20 p.m. Employees confronted the man after they noticed he left without paying for a number of items, that is when he pulled out the knife and threatened the workers. The man then fled to a vehicle and hit a parked car while he made his escape from the scene. Nobody was injured in the robbery and the licence plates on the suspect vehicle were discovered to be stolen from a car parked on Plank Line earlier in the day.
Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect described as follows:
Male, white
Mid 20’s
5’10” tall
Slim build
Short brown hair and brown facial hair on chin Wearing a grey/brown t-shirt with yellow “John Deere” lettering across the front, brown plaid patterned shorts and white running shoes.
Suspect vehicle is described as follows:
Silver / Grey older style family van, possible tinted rear windows.
Stolen Ontario Licence plate #: BRNH 420 may still be affixed.
Possible damage to the passenger side rear wheel well – rear bumper area resulting from the collision.
