Three grants, worth $3,000 each, will be awarded to local businesses to help expand the tourism industry in Oxford County.
OXFORD COUNTY - Community Futures Oxford, Tourism Oxford, and Rural Oxford Economic Development are joining forces to deliver a second round of tourism innovation grants.
Three grants, worth $3,000 each, will be awarded to local businesses to help expand the tourism industry in Oxford County. After last year's pilot program had excellent outcomes, the decision to offer more grants to businesses this year was easy for the local organizers.
Lindsay Wilson, CED Coordinator for Community Futures Oxford, says local tourism operators were hit hard by the pandemic.
"The tourism industry continues to be impacted, including businesses operating in Oxford County. The Tourism Innovation Grant is a unique opportunity to support the creativity and recovery of the local tourism industry"
Golspie Dairy was one of the recipients last year. Co-owner Marja DeBoer-Marshall says her company was able to focus on a brighter future that just wasn't in their budget.
Online applications for the grant are being accepted until March 1st.
