Set Your Clocks, Change Your Stocks

Daylight Savings Time ends on Sunday and Oxford County is encouraging everyone to check their 72-hour emergency kits.

WOODSTOCK - You never know when disaster is going to strike, so your 72-hour emergency kit should always be ready to go.

This means you should check it multiple times a year and Oxford County says Daylight Savings time change is the perfect time. As the clocks go back this Sunday, officials say you should make sure your emergency kit has all of the food, water, medication, and supplies you would need for three days.

Expired items need to be thrown out and you should also update your first aid supplies. Important documents also need to be up to date including identification and your list of emergency contacts.

You can find more information about 72-hour emergency kits and everything they should include online here.

Oxford County is also encouraging everyone to check their smoke and carbon monoxide alarms this weekend. If you have to swap out the batteries, the old ones can be taken to Oxford County Waste Management Facility or Woodstock’s EnviroDepot.
