The Southwestern Public Health Unit has received it's first direct shipment of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine.
OXFORD/ST.THOMAS/ELGIN - The Southwestern Public Health Unit received a special delivery over the weekend.
It received it's first direct shipment of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine. Before yesterday, all of the shots administered locally had first been shipped to the London Health Sciences Centre.
The Health Unit shared the good news on Facebook last night and it says the doses are now being stored in a super low temperature fridge.
The Health Unit is also going to open two mass immunization clinics this week; one at Goff Hall in Woodstock and one at the St. Thomas-Elgin Memorial Arena.
