$25,000 has been donated to STICH Supper Club by the Farm Credit Corporation to help with growth.
INGERSOLL - A local group has received funding to continue assisting those in need.
Stronger Together Ingersoll Community Harvest better known as the STICH Supper Club has just been handed a major donation from the Farm Credit Corporation.
Vice President of the Club Bryan Smith explains what they provide. "We provide a meal every Thursday. We have somewhere between 200-250 guests. We provide groceries and make sure that people have access to food who might not otherwise eat well, or eat at all."
The club began in 2015 and they are extremely thankful after a recent $25,000 donation. Smith talks about what they plan to do with the money. "Farm Credit Corporation came through and said well if one of the things that would help you out would be a vehicle to move that food from the place where it is in excess, and therefore destined for the garbage, to a place produced into meals then we'll help."
Smith added they always welcome volunteers and more work needs to be done to help others in the community.
