The Woodstock Terry Fox Run will be taking place in Southside Park on Sunday September 15th.
WOODSTOCK - September has arrived, which means the Terry Fox Run is fast approaching.
John Versaevel, the Chair of the Woodstock fundraiser, says the local run will return to Southside Park on Sunday September 15th.
"Registration will be at 9:00 a.m. with a small opening ceremony and the run beginning at 10:00 a.m. There's a 2.5K course and a 5K course. If you want to do 10K, you can just do the 5K twice. It's mostly all in the park, there is very little street involved. Fortunately, the police auxiliary will give us a couple of people to cover any areas we need to worry about, but the roads will be closed so you're protected. You're basically running in the park."
Versaevel says everyone is welcome, whether you want to run, bike, or walk for the fundraiser. Everyone will gather at the Southside Park bandshell before the event, which is also known as the Southside Park pavilion.
All of the money raised will be going to the Terry Fox Foundation in support of cancer research projects. Last year's event raised $30,389 which pushed the grand total since 1980 over $602,000.
