Memories of Motown will hit the Theatre Woodstock stage this Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
WOODSTOCK - An upcoming performance at Theatre Woodstock will take you back to one of the most legendary times in music history.
Memories of Motown will hit the stage this weekend with Rob, Andrea and Steve McLaughlin performing about 30 hit songs from 1959 to 1972. That's when the Motown Recording Studio was located in Detroit, Michigan and Rob says they will perform about 30 songs from that era.
"We cover quite a whole range from Diana Ross and the Supremes, The Temptations, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, The Four Tops, and towards the end of the show we'll have an early song by The Jackson 5."
He adds each song will also have a video introduction, so you'll get to learn more about the history of Motown
"We kind of start from the beginning with how Barry Gordy got started in Motown music and how did the studio happen. We also talk about some of the artists as they come along and we have a bit of a story behind some of those artists. I've spent a lot of time doing a lot of research, so there's a lot of unique little details that we sort of found out."
Rob spent over a year conducting research for this show, and he has been performing it with his daughter and his brother for about a year now.
There's only one performance scheduled at Theatre Woodstock and it will be taking place at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday September 29th. Tickets cost $30 each and they can be purchased online here.
