My Old Lady will make its Theatre Woodstock debut on Thursday October 17th.
WOODSTOCK - Imagine inheriting an apartment in France, but when you move overseas to claim it, you find someone else living there.
That is the plot line of Theatre Woodstock's next production, My Old Lady.
Tanya Thompson will bring the character of Mathilde Girard to life on stage, also known as the old lady. John Settle will play the character of Mathias Gold, the New Yorker who moved to Paris to claim the apartment. Eve Cohen will round out the three-person cast, playing Mathilde's overly protective middle-aged daughter Chloe Girard.
Thompson says it's an amazing story, but it's not for everyone.
"There are definitely some comedic moments, but it also has some heavier overtones. There is some mature subject matter and a little bit of language, so it's not necessarily a family show but it is a wonderful show. It will touch your heart and it will make you laugh."
Thompson says the people in the audience should be at least 14 years old.
The show will make its debut on Thursday October 17th, but the opening night celebration will be taking place on Friday October 18th. The Oxford Winds will play Parisian music to set the ambiance during a gala.
There will be eight performances total leading up to the final show on Sunday October 27th. Tickets are $28 for adults, $20 for students or $18 for youth under 12, but that age group is not recommended for this show. Theatre Woodstock has also started a new promotion called Thrifty Thursdays, where the tickets for Thursday performances will be $20 each.
Tickets for My Old Lady can be purchased on the Theatre Woodstock website or at the box office.
Tanya Thompson stopped by the Heart FM studio to chat with Dan and Marcie on Tuesday October 8th. You can listen to the full interview below:
