Emergency Crews on the scene of a townhouse fire on Springbank Avenue in Woodstock

WOODSTOCK - Nearly $400,000 in damage was caused as the result of a townhouse fire on Springbank Avenue in Woodstock.

Woodstock Fire Public Information Coordinator Lisa Woods says the call came in around 9:30 Tuesday morning about a kitchen fire.

Seven pets died in the blaze.

Woods says luckily everyone had the proper insurance. "There is some damage to the two units on either side of the fire unit. Smoke and water damage mostly."

Woodstock Fire has determined unattended cooking and combustible materials too close to ignitions sources are to blame.
