The Thames Valley District School Board is working to help students and families transitioning from elementary to high school with the 'High School Here I Come' program.

TVDSB - Going from oldest in the school to brand new student could make for a tough transition.

The Thames Valley District School Board is trying to lessen the worry as they have put together the 'High School Here I Come' program.

This year, the program is entering its 21st year and will be offered at 26 high schools across the school board.

Students will get the necessary tools needed in order to best prepare for high school.

The tools that will be shared include the reality of High School, academic expectations and study skills, getting and staying organized, getting involved in the school community, literacy and Numeracy learning skills.

The program will be offered over two days, which are Monday, August 19 and Tuesday 20, 2024 or  Wednesday, August 21 and Thursday 22, 2024. Parents will receive communication prior to the start of the program to let them know the dates their child is scheduled to attend.

Oxford County will be represented. College Ave, Huron Park, and Woodstock Collegiate, along with Glendale High School in Tillsonburg, and Ingersoll District Collegiate will be taking part in the program.

You can visit the TVDSB website to learn all the information needed to register.
