The future of Canadian baseball is coming to Woodstock.
WOODSTOCK - The future of Canadian baseball is coming to Woodstock.
Woodstock will host the 13 and under National Baseball Championship on August 23rd till the 26th.
Jeremy Jeanson of Woodstock Minor Baseball says the Tournament will put Woodstock in the spotlight.
"It's a great way to showcase our City. We've got a tremendous new facility that we just built for our players. We get to showcase our city, our community spirit and literally show the friendly city off to the entirety of Canada."
Woodstock Minor Baseball has been contacting local businesses about sponsorships but fell short.
This prompted Woodstock City Council to step in and provide $10 000.
Jeanson says the funding from the City is a substantial help.
"It helps tremendously, we really appreciate any support we get from the City of Woodstock. The parks department has been great to help us out through the entirety of the tournament. This is just one more example of how Woodstock comes together to put together great events."
Tournament organizers are still looking for sponsorships to help fund the tournament.
