United Way Oxford is still collecting donations for their annual campaign.
OXFORD COUNTY - With 2017 coming to an end United Way Oxford is still working hard to help people through the year.
Campaign Chair Leslie Farrell, says that the campaign is in really good shape but that they are not releasing any numbers yet. The campaign is still collecting donations and will continue until March, 2018.
Executive Director of United Way Oxford, Kelly Gilson talks about their first ever Leadership Chair, Dennis and Joan Vollmershausen.
"For every new leadership donor that United Way receives this year or an increase they are generously matching that so that we can have double the impact."
The Leadership Challenge Grant, with help from the public has raised over $50,000 and that will be matched.
Gilson adds on where the majority of their funds are put towards.
"We only raise the funds to do the important work in the community. So we invest in three priority areas moving people from poverty to possibility, building strong healthy communities and making sure that kids can be all that they can be."
United Way tries their best to support everything that they possibly can; their volunteers are constantly making tough decisions what can and cannot be funded.
