United Way Seeking Help from the Community to End their Fundraising Year
OXFORD COUNTY - We are still weeks away from announcing the final numbers of The United Way Oxford's fundraising efforts for the year.
Many work place campaigns are in full force and Executive Director Kelly Gilson is seeking more to come on board.
"We very much like to encourage especially those who have not run a workplace campaign , we can make it so simple and do a campaign campaign, give your management and employees an opportunity to come together to support the communities that they live in and work in."
Workplace campaigns are encouraged over the holiday season in place of things like secret Santa gift exchange.
With the help of the Vollmershausen Leadership Challenge Grant donations of $1200 or more are being matched. The new initiative will cap donations to a maximum of $50,000. Each gift will double the impact for children, individuals and families in our community who will rely on local programs and services for support.
Gilson says that the Leadership Challenge Grant is such an incredible incentive and opportunity.
"Those contributions that people make actually changes people's lives, so it is important, and people feel good when they are apart of it. We talk about The United Way looks like me and all of us, together we can make this a healthy community."
The highly anticipated United Way Oxford On-line Auction is back for the 7th year. The auction is the perfect opportunity to support the community and do some Christmas shopping as there are a number of enticing items on the auction. The Auction runs December 4th through to the 8th, with the ability to do proxy bidding.
Last year the On-line Auction raised almost $10,000 last year.
