A tentative deal has been reached between Via Rail and Unifor, preventing a strike that would have derailed Via Rail's operations across the country.

The deal still needs to be ratified, so few details are available at this time. Via Rail has issued a statement saying the deal will be retroactive to the beginning of this year and will remain in effect through December 2024.
