The Canadian Cancer Society is looking for volunteers to step forward as they prepare for Daffodil Month.
Daffodils are about to start popping up all over Oxford County.
April is Daffodil Month for the Canadian Cancer Society, but they are putting out the call for volunteers now.
Manager Janice Cunningham is searching for pin donation collectors and canvassers.
"Our pin shifts are two hours each, so it's a pretty quick commitment to make and you're certainly helping someone. The cancer research that we fund and the support services that we offer certainly make a difference in everybody's lives."
Many high school students use this as an opportunity to top up their compulsory volunteer hours, but Cunningham says its also a great opportunity to teach young children about volunteerism.
"This is a really good opportunity that you could go out and do some volunteering with a small child - any child really - because there's no change involved. We're asking for donations only for the pins so it's a great time to introduce them to that aspect."
The first weekend for pin collection will run Thursday, March 30th - Saturday, April 1st
The second weekend is Thursday, April 20th - Saturday, April 22nd
Volunteers can sign up by calling the office at 519-537-5592 or at MyCCSSchedule.ca
