Still plenty of time to sign up for the Walk-It for Parkinson's, at Southside Park in Woodstock on Sunday afternoon. The event features 1 km to 5 km walking routes, refreshments, entertainment, and fun for the whole family.
WOODSTOCK - The Walk-It for Parkinson's is happening at Southside Park in Woodstock on Sunday afternoon.
They will have 1 KM and a 5 KM route set up this year. Special Events Coordinator Tanya Park says you can dedicate your walk to that special someone who has been touched by Parkinson's disease.
"What we do each and every year is, members of people's families or friends, they come together to show their support and solidarity and help us to raise the much needed dollars for research, for education and for advocacy for those living with the diagnosis of Parkinson's disease."
Park says they are hoping to raise a lot of money once again this year.
"In previous years we have been able to raise $300,000, so it is our goal to reach that number again across Southwestern Ontario. We do know that individuals with Parkinson's, that number is going to rise, so it is our organization's goal to be ready to give assistance to the people who need it."
Each WALK-IT for Parkinson's event features 1 km to 5 km walking routes, refreshments, entertainment, and fun for the whole family.
You can register online now or you can also register the day of the event starting at 1 pm.
