The West Region OPP are once again reminding vehicle owners to lock it or lose it following multiple vehicle entires in Ingersoll.
INGERSOLL - Police have responded to several vehicle entries in Ingersoll this winter.
The West Region OPP shared a video about it online, encouraging vehicle owners to lock it or lose it.
The video features Oxford Constable Trevor Lamb.
"Far too often, my colleagues here at the Ingersoll detachment are contacted by community members indicating that their vehicles have been entered sometime overnight."
Lamb says most break ins typically happen overnight.
"These individuals generally rely on their ability to access a large number of vehicles while circulating through the neighbourhood and therefore rarely force entry for fear of making noise and risking detection."
Lamb says you should always lock your vehicle and you shouldn't leave any valuables inside. If you have to leave something inside make sure it's hidden. It's also a good idea to park in a well lit area or in a locked garage.
Lamb is encouraging everyone to report vehicle break ins to Oxford OPP or Crime Stoppers.
If you don't lock it, you may lose it. Ingersoll has experienced a number of vehicle entries this winter, so it's important to keep your valuables safe. Provincial Constable Trevor Lamb of #OxfordOPP has some great hints on how prevent being victimized by thieves. ^dr pic.twitter.com/NJDYxJde8g
