Wettlaufer Case Moving Forward

Elizabeth Wettlaufer will have a pretrial date set at the Woodstock courthouse on March 17th.

WOODSTOCK - Finally some movement in the Elizabeth Wettlaufer Murder case.

Wettlaufer appeared via a video conference inside the Woodstock Court House this morning. She will be back in Woodstock on March 17 to set a judicial pretrial.

Susan Horvath was at the court house again this morning. Her father Arpad Horvath is one of the people who was allegedly killed by Wettlaufer. She tells Heart FM she was happy to finally see some movement.

"But at least it's one little step forward, you see the days when nobody comes out here and you think it is going to be the same old same old, it turns out we have a little glimmer of hope, a little tiny glimmer. So we come back on March 17th and then they'll set the pretrial and I heard this case is going to take about 2 and half years."

Wettlaufer is facing 8 counts of first degree murder, four counts of attempted murder and 2 counts of aggravated assault. The alleged aggravated assaults and two of the attempted murders happened at the Carressant Care in Woodstock where she is accused of killing 7 people.

Wettlaufers charges date back to 2007 and the most recent case happening in August of 2016. The following are the 8 people she is accused of killing at nursing homes in Woodstock and London.
