It was the first look at the 2025 capital budget for Woodstock City Council at their meeting last night.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock City Council got their first look at the 2025 Capital budget.
There were lots of numbers talked about at the meeting last night. Mayor, Jerry Acchione shares some details.
"Well, the snapshot is I guess $61,363,000 is being proposed for 2025."
Mayor Acchione says County sanitary sewer and water main work will total $17,635,000, which will be reimbursed, also the majority of spending will go towards maintenance and replacement of existing assets, with around 13 percent being put towards new or growth-related capital projects. He says that the public will be able to hear discussions at special budget meetings.
"I encourage as much public to watch at home or live in person so they can see that discussion, the justification of what each department needs."
The meetings are going to be held on November 26th and potentially November 28th, depending on if more discussion is needed. They will begin at 5 p.m. During the meeting, it will be a time for the Council to suggest possible changes based on the information they receive.
The final capital budget is scheduled to be adopted during the meeting on December 12th.
