Woodstock's Fire Chief has a new proposal for members of city council to digest. Scott Tegler is suggesting the city invest in a new Emergency Management position. Tegler says if the position is approved within the 2012 budget, that person would be responsible for the continuity of operations relating to explosions, tornadoes or similar emergency situations "We all depend on computer system a lot and if we get those knocked out for any period of time - it's amazing - our vehicles are affected by computers, our operations are solely on computers, our files, and every other organization depends on that so much, so it's our mission to make sure that the corporation has planned out every little event that could occur so that we have back up plans that we will be able to absorb those unfortunate events that do happen". Tegler says the fire department and other emergency services within the city want to be fully prepared for a catastrophic event and to ensure a safer community.
